Jimmy Kitchen is a Partner in Jones Day’s Pittsburgh Office, practicing in the Investigations & White Collar Defense and Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection groups. Prior to joining Jones Day, Jimmy was an Assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in the Southern District of Texas, District of New Jersey, and the Western District of Pennsylvania, where he investigated and prosecuted international and domestic terrorism cases with a special focus on monitoring and identifying online extremists. With the DOJ, Jimmy served as the Deputy Chief of the National Security and Cyber Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and was designated as an Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council Coordinator as well as a National Security Cyber Specialist. Jimmy has been named as the Inaugural Practice Affiliate Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Cyber Law, Policy, and Security. He presents nationally as an authority on cybersecurity and investigations.

The effort to eradicate hate requires the active participation of every component of our society, to include governments, the private sector, communities of faith and indeed every aspect of civil society. There is no more urgent task in front of us. The organizers of the Eradicate Hate Global Summit are doing the United States and the world an enormous service by tackling hatred and extremism with a focus on honest dialogue and conversation, genuine learning and practical solutions. This will not happen overnight, but the Pittsburgh community’s leadership in this effort is genuinely inspiring and motivating.
