Stephanie Albiero is a UNOPS Programme Management Specialist supporting the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) Counter Terrorism Centre (UNCCT)’s Global Programme on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism, where she specializes in capacity building and technical assistance on the misuse of digital technologies by violent extremist actors, with a particular focus on gaming and gaming-adjacent platforms. Prior to joining UNOCT in 2023, Stephanie led multiple large-scale European Commission-funded programmes in cooperation with ministries, law enforcement agencies, and researchers across Europe in the areas of counter-terrorism, serious and organized crime, critical infrastructure protection, and crisis management.
The catalytic power of this Summit in bringing together those who are devoting their lives to pushing back and working to confront, understand and work towards solutions around hate in our society is a noble and difficult task. The Summit not only energized those who attended but led to connecting the dots in a global network of those doing this work. The stories of the victims of hate were painful to witness but their courage in coming forward was inspirational. Those who attended left energized with the hope that by working together solutions can be forged.
