Prof. Yuval Shany is the Hersch Lauterpacht Chair in International Law and former Dean of the Law Faculty of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was a member of the UN Human Rights Committee from 2013 to 2020, and during 2018-2019 he also served as Chair of the Committee. He is a senior research fellow at the Israel Democracy Institute, and the head of the CyberLaw program of the Hebrew University CyberSecurity Research Center. He co-directs this year the Center for Transnational Legal Studies at King’s College in London.
To me, Eradicate Hate was the most important gathering of 2021 for those of us who work on issues related to domestic extremism and organized hate. The Summit uniquely combined a variety of perspectives, including experts, civil society representatives, politicians and policymakers, and the families and loved ones of victims. Eradicate Hate has the important mission of standing against the rising tide of hate and extremism in our society, and it’s an honor to be able to support this mission.
