Will Parkin is a Senior Research Analyst at RTI International in the Justice Practice Area. Currently, he’s Co-Director of the Coordinated Hate Crimes Resource Center funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance. He also studies public support for violent extremism and human behavioral responses to targeted acts of violence. Throughout his career, Dr. Parkin has collaborated with national experts on a wide variety of topics including extremist violence, the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative, community policing, and the community impacts of misdemeanor prosecutions. Prior to working at RTI International he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice, Criminology, and Forensics at Seattle University.
It is a tragic reality that hateful ideology has found fertile ground online and offline, with consequences affecting not only Americans but people around the world. We cannot stand idle in the face of bias, bigotry, and extremism. Together, at the Eradicate Hate Summit and beyond, the collective will of individuals and organizations is needed to galvanize all people of good will to protect and defend our communities.
