Rev. Wendell Shelby-Wallace
President & CEO, The Convergence Collective; Associate Director, Anti-Defamation League (ADL)
2024, 2025
Rev. Wendell Shelby-Wallace is a dynamic nonprofit executive and multifaith leader committed to advancing Black Christian leadership and global engagement. He serves as Associate Director of Community Partnerships, National Affairs at the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), one of the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organizations. In this role, he builds bridges with Evangelical and multifaith communities, mobilizing partnerships to confront antisemitism, extremism, and hate in all its forms.
In addition to his work at ADL, Wendell is the Co-Founder and President & CEO of The Convergence Collective, an independent nonprofit that links Black America, the Holy Land, and Africa. Through initiatives grounded in education, advocacy, and community, he advances connection across the African and Jewish diasporas and develops leaders who can engage globally with confidence and purpose. He also serves on the Board of the National Center for Black-Jewish Relations at Dillard University, helping to lead its revitalization, and has held advisory capacities at Clark Atlanta University and Xavier University of Louisiana.
Wendell previously served as Associate Director of Philos Black, where he helped launch national programs such as the Soulful Shabbat Dinner series and later guided its transition into the fully independent Convergence Collective. Wendell’s career spans public service, diplomacy, education, and advocacy, with a focus on shaping leaders whose ethical, spiritual, and national identities are honored and empowered.
His professional background also includes five years with the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he cultivated partnerships with faith-based and minority communities across the United States. A former public and parochial school educator, he has led nearly a dozen delegations to Israel, guiding emerging leaders through transformative multifaith and cross-cultural experiences.
A proud Morehouse Man and member of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, pastored by Rev. Dr. Senator Raphael Warnock, Wendell divides his time between Georgia and Louisiana, where he is restoring a nationally registered historic property, work that reflects his passion for preserving history while shaping the future. Above all, he treasures time with his beloved family, who remain his grounding source of joy and inspiration.

It is a tragic reality that hateful ideology has found fertile ground online and offline, with consequences affecting not only Americans but people around the world. We cannot stand idle in the face of bias, bigotry, and extremism. Together, at the Eradicate Hate Summit and beyond, the collective will of individuals and organizations is needed to galvanize all people of good will to protect and defend our communities.
