Tim is a domestic violent extremism analyst in the Preventing Targeted Violence Unit within the Colorado Information and Analysis Center (CIAC) (Fusion Center). Tim previously was a police officer with the City of Aurora (CO) where he led the development of the departments Targeted Violence Prevention Program, leading a behavioral threat management team and conducting training and execution of Colorado’s red-flag law. Tim is an instructor for Louisiana State University’s National Biomedical Research and Training where he instructs the Department of Homeland Security’s National Threat Evaluation and Reporting – Instructor Development. Tim is also a chapter board member for the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals
(ATAP) – Rocky Mountain Chapter.

The Summit was more than empty words – it made clear that a solution-driven approach is the only way to fight hate. That’s why the working group activities, which are results driven are going to be critical in defeating violent extremism. The Summit brought together the best minds in government, private sector, academia, and civil society. Being surrounded by these experts sparked new ideas – some of which I’ve already implemented or have written about.
