Deputy Chief Steven Richter started his law enforcement career in 1996 as a Cadet with the West Bloomfield Police Department and went on to serve at nearly level of the agency – Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Driving Instructor, SRT Armored Vehicle Driver, Oakland County NET Task Force Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, and now Deputy Chief.
Steven holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Also, a graduate of both the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety Police Staff and Command School class #432 and the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police New Executive School.
Steven is a member of the Oakland County Chiefs Association, the Southeastern Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police, the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
The Summit offers a unique opportunity to confront the corrosive influence of bigotry and hatred in our society.
