M.K. Swartsfager is pursuing a career as a public interest attorney. He has studied family law, urban development, criminal law and immigration law while serving clients in landlord tenant matters, protection from abuse petitions, juvenile delinquency defense, and petitions for naturalization. M.K enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2009 and commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2017. He studied International Relations and Mandarin language, and served within Air Force Global Strike Command, Air Force Space Command, 1st Marine Air Wing, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, and the 4th Marine Division. He worked in the Criminal Divisions of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California and the Western District of Pennsylvania, before becoming a certified legal intern with Neighborhood Legal Services, Allegheny County Office of Conflict Counsel, and Jewish Family and Community Services. M.K. resides with his family in Green Tree, Pennsylvania.

The Summit offers a unique opportunity to confront the corrosive influence of bigotry and hatred in our society. In order for us to address these challenges, we first must acknowledge their painful and destructive impact in our communities and in our country. I am grateful to serve as a Global Advisor to this timely and powerful initiative.
