Jonathon is an Online Safety Policy Associate in Ofcom’s Online Safety Group, operating in their Hate, Terrorism, and Suicide team. Jonathon has studied politics, ideology, counter-terrorism, and the extreme right wing at the University of Exeter, the Australian National University, and Richmond, the American International University in London. Jonathon has been working at the nexus of tech and extremism for the last 4 years, with a particular focus on the contemporary misuse of AI-powered tech and gaming spaces by hateful and terroristic actors.
