Jolayemi Ahamiojie is a Rhode Island native living in Providence, Rhode Island. She obtained her bachelors from Rhode Island College and Masters in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She currently works within the Rhode Island Department of Health Violence and Injury Prevention Program. The program focuses on a wide range of violence and injury topics such as adverse child experiences, traumatic brain injury, fall prevention and transportation safety.
As the Injury Prevention Program Manager, she manages the Rape Prevention Education Program and Traumatic Brain Injury Prevention Program. She co-facilitates the Rhode Island Cross Campus Learning Collaborative on Sexual Violence Prevention which brings the 11 Rhode Island universities/colleges together to talk about best practices, provide resource sharing opportunities and safe place to troubleshoot ideas. Mrs. Ahamiojie has implemented a school-based emotion regulation program for middle school students and implemented concussion prevention activities such as free Baseline testing for student athletes and community trainings. Lastly, she collaborates with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation Office of Highway Safety to increase positive transportation messages around texting while driving and impaired driving.
