Dr. Jennifer Cohen is a Social Scientist at the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Intelligence and Analysis, National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Program Office. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology with research interests in disaster mental health and cultural competence. Dr. Cohen has published articles on political psychology, post-traumatic growth, as well as consulted on the topic of mental health and airport security. She has conducted a variety of psychological assessments and treatments in both private and public sector. She was a co-chair on the Threat Assessment and Management Team at the Martinsburg, VA Medical Center. Currently, she offers her expertise on behavioral threat assessment and mental health to the NTER Program Office.

The Summit was more than empty words – it made clear that a solution-driven approach is the only way to fight hate. That’s why the working group activities, which are results driven are going to be critical in defeating violent extremism. The Summit brought together the best minds in government, private sector, academia, and civil society. Being surrounded by these experts sparked new ideas – some of which I’ve already implemented or have written about.
