Eradicate Hate:
2022

Jenn Beer is President & CEO of Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. Prior to that role, she served for fifteen years at the Allegheny Conference on Community Development where she most recently was vice president for government affairs, addressing state and regional public policy issues.  She was instrumental in the efforts to secure state public pension reform, increase tax credits for community development initiatives, garner comprehensive state transportation funding, and numerous other business climate and local government initiatives.  Jenn has been a re-occurring guest representing the business community on “Our Region’s Business”, a weekly Sunday-morning business affairs program. Recently appointed to the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, the Pittsburgh region’s metropolitan planning organization, Jenn also sits on the board of directors for the Local Government Academy, Trying Together.  In the spring of 2022 Jenn was honored as one of forty women across Pennsylvania by City & State PA with their Above & Beyond Award, given to the most influential women in Pennsylvania who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in their field, combined with having made significant contributions to society.

Jenn graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a concentration in Russian Studies.

This cannot be thought of as a conference or a summit. The stakes are simply too high and the data/conversation and methods to drive action more valuable/motivating than any gathering I have attended. I took more than 100 pages of notes and have shared them with my CBS News leadership team, anchors, producers, and correspondents. Nothing about this gathering was easy. The agony around this topic is real. But no one curious about it could ask for a more devoted, rational, or unflinching look into this dark but decipherable world.
