Hana Hadzifejzovic is the curriculum developer for the Playing with Hate: Safe Gaming & Anti-Hate Gaming Project. Through this capacity, she works with a video game developer to create an immersive anti-hate gaming experience targeting youth aged 12 to 18. The project aims to counter the hateful narratives that are so prevalent in gaming spaces and offers learning modules that enhances youths’ capacity to identify and resist recruitment towards hateful ideologies. Hana’s background includes working with justice involved youth in both individual and group settings. She has several years of experience offering case management services and facilitating evidenced-based programming to enhance clients’ skills and reduce their risk of recidivism. She is currently the acting coordinator for John Howard Society of Ottawa’s Time for Change (T4C) and Project ReSet programs. T4C supports individuals and their families who are impacted by or associated with street level violence. Project ReSet offers high-intensity case management and wrap-around support to individuals or families who are at risk of becoming involved, or are already involved, in hate-motivated violence.
At the Summit

This cannot be thought of as a conference or a summit. The stakes are simply too high and the data/conversation and methods to drive action more valuable/motivating than any gathering I have attended. I took more than 100 pages of notes and have shared them with my CBS News leadership team, anchors, producers, and correspondents. Nothing about this gathering was easy. The agony around this topic is real. But no one curious about it could ask for a more devoted, rational, or unflinching look into this dark but decipherable world.
