
Eddie Robar was appointed as permanent City Manager in November 2024 after serving as Interim City Manager since April 2024. Responsible for leading more than 11,000 employees and delivering more than 70 lines of business, he is the primary link between staff and City Council. Eddie was a Director of Transit in Halifax and moved west in 2016 to become the Branch Manager of Edmonton Transit Service, serving as a Branch Manager for Fleet and Facility Services before becoming the Deputy City Manager of City Operations. Leading the department responsible for parks, roads, transit, waste, fleet and facility programs, he has overseen the redesign of the City’s bus network, improved snow and ice programs, and advanced an organics waste program. Eddie was a ‘Top 40 under 40’ industry leader in Mass Transit Magazine and has won several national transportation awards. As a City employee with over 20 years of experience in municipal government, he is part of a team that leads the way in innovation and service excellence.
It is a tragic reality that hateful ideology has found fertile ground online and offline, with consequences affecting not only Americans but people around the world. We cannot stand idle in the face of bias, bigotry, and extremism. Together, at the Eradicate Hate Summit and beyond, the collective will of individuals and organizations is needed to galvanize all people of good will to protect and defend our communities.
