Delvina Lorraine Morrow, has provided leadership in strategic thinking and community development in the nonprofit sector, for-profit sector, life sciences, technology, and now sports. Delvina has dedicated her career to bringing people together, and advancing missions, as a community leader and executive.

Currently, Delvina serves as the Vice President of Community Affairs and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at the NHL hockey team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. In this pivotal role, she orchestrates and oversees a wide array of campaigns, initiatives, and special projects that serve to benefit communities both locally and beyond. Her responsibilities extend to upholding the team’s unwavering commitment to community service, while also championing causes related to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Delvina has worked on external projects and initiatives relating to the redevelopment of the former Civic Arena, and has worked to shape the culture of community engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and takes pride in being someone who leads with passion and unity at the forefront.

She was named to The Hockey News 2022 List of 20 Women Making Black History in Hockey. Delvina has been featured by the NHL as one of the women leading the way towards a more diverse and inclusive game with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, ensuring that hockey is for everyone, and that representation is seen on and off the ice.

As a staunch advocate for leadership development, Delvina was selected in 2023 to participate in the Young American Leaders Program (YALP) at Harvard Business School (HBS). This exclusive program aims to enhance U.S. competitiveness and cultivate leaders capable of executing cross-sector collaborations to enhance workforce skills, improve educational institutions, revitalize infrastructure, and drive transformative actions for communities.

Furthermore, in 2023, Delvina successfully completed The Advanced Leadership Institute (TALI) and graduated from the Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business Executive Leadership Academy.

Beyond her professional achievements, Delvina actively contributes to the community by serving on the boards of Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc., and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pittsburgh.

A native of New York City and a first-generation college graduate, Delvina earned her bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. She currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, alongside her husband and proudly embraces the role of a devoted mother to a young toddler.

The catalytic power of this Summit in bringing together those who are devoting their lives to pushing back and working to confront, understand and work towards solutions around hate in our society is a noble and difficult task. The Summit not only energized those who attended but led to connecting the dots in a global network of those doing this work. The stories of the victims of hate were painful to witness but their courage in coming forward was inspirational. Those who attended left energized with the hope that by working together solutions can be forged.
