Clara Broekaert is a Research Analyst at The Soufan Center, an Associate Fellow at the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism, and a Senior Research Fellow at Tech Against Terrorism. Her work focuses on terrorism, foreign interference, and conflict. She has conducted various investigations into terrorist groups, examining their intent, capabilities, organizational structures, digital ecosystems, and operational tradecraft. Her current work asks how terrorist groups and individuals inspired by them learn, adapt, and adopt new technologies — and under what conditions this results in meaningful uplift.
My network of professionals working on countering hate in all its forms grew exponentially after attending Eradicate Hate in 2021. The myriad voices represented at Eradicate Hate, from big tech companies to academic researchers to those with lived experience, reinforced to me the importance of cross-cutting and collaborative approaches to counter hate and its devastating impacts on society. I’ve been fortunate to sustain and build those networks with many of those I met at Eradicate Hate in 2021.
