Cassie Heinauer
Intern, Eradicate Hate Global Summit
Cassandra Heinauer is a part-time summer intern at Eradicate Hate working on building a global database of organizations that aim to reduce hate-fueled violence. She is a rising sophomore majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Denison University. As a dedicated student-athlete, she balances the demands of collegiate athletics and academics. Originally from Pittsburgh, Cassandra is especially interested in international relations and public policy and hopes to pursue a career in global affairs.

The Summit was more than empty words – it made clear that a solution-driven approach is the only way to fight hate. That’s why the working group activities, which are results driven are going to be critical in defeating violent extremism. The Summit brought together the best minds in government, private sector, academia, and civil society. Being surrounded by these experts sparked new ideas – some of which I’ve already implemented or have written about.
