A.C. Thompson is a correspondent for the PBS series FRONTLINE and a staff reporter for ProPublica. His reporting has helped lead to the exoneration of two innocent San Francisco men sentenced to life in prison, a Congressional investigation of the U.S. Border Patrol, and the prosecution of nine violent white supremacists. Thompson’s life was fictionalized on the HBO show “Treme.”

The Summit offers a unique opportunity to confront the corrosive influence of bigotry and hatred in our society. In order for us to address these challenges, we first must acknowledge their painful and destructive impact in our communities and in our country.
