Profiles of Upstanders and the Power of Delegations to Drive Change

This session highlights individuals and delegations who acted to stop violence, aid the wounded, and prevent future attacks—including first responders who stepped in amid chaos and uncertainty, and a community delegation that turned its Summit experience into lasting local change, from education and law enforcement training to new legislation, and a prevented attack. Panelists will explore what drives people to act despite fear and risk, and how a single Summit experience can translate into sustained, tangible impact back home. These stories underscore why earlier intervention matters, so prevention doesn’t have to depend on extreme individual risk once violence is already underway.
