In the first year of Eradicate Hate, Salt Lake City sent a delegation of people from many different backgrounds to the Global Summit to learn what they each could do in their own community to prevent identity-based hate. Upon returning home, they formed a local organization that conducted community education, trained law enforcement, launched multifaith initiatives, and helped secured the passage of new hate crimes legislation. This delegation has returned to the Summit each year since, continuing to take ideas back to deliver transformative change in their home community. In this session, members of the delegation provide personal stories and practical tips on how a delegation of individuals can translate their Eradicate Hate experience into tangible initiatives in their own community, and how their efforts came to fruition when they were able to prevent an attack on places of worship in 2026.
