Navdeep Gill

Eradicate Hate:
2021

Navdeep Gill is one of the community members at the Sikh Temple of WI who played a crucial part in the response and aftermath of the mass shooting on August 5, 2012. He collaborated with law enforcement to identify, create, and improve community and security solutions.  Gill co-founded of Serve 2 Unite, an organization created to establish a healthy sense of identity, purpose, and belonging that diverts young people from violent extremist ideologies, gun violence, school shootings, bullying, and substance abuse. Gill continued his work with the National Mass Violence Victimization Resource Center (NMVVRC) as one of the founding stakeholders where they provide communities access to evidence-based information and resources needed to effectively prepare for and respond to mass violence incidents.

To me, Eradicate Hate was the most important gathering of 2021 for those of us who work on issues related to domestic extremism and organized hate. The Summit uniquely combined a variety of perspectives, including experts, civil society representatives, politicians and policymakers, and the families and loved ones of victims. Eradicate Hate has the important mission of standing against the rising tide of hate and extremism in our society, and it’s an honor to be able to support this mission.
