Galen Lamphere-Englund is a senior international security advisor working to prevent terrorism and societal violence, especially across online spaces. He specializes in applied research, strategic communications, and program leadership to strengthen resilience and combat online exploitation. For over 15 years, Galen has delivered projects in 30+ countries for UN agencies, governments, think tanks, humanitarian NGOs, and major tech platforms. He co-founded the Extremism and Gaming Research Network (EGRN), a global impact network that brings together 170 members to protect gaming communities against online harms. Galen currently serves as a Team Lead at the Christchurch Call Foundation, convening a consortium focused on the intersection of violent misogyny and terrorism.

The effort to eradicate hate requires the active participation of every component of our society, to include governments, the private sector, communities of faith and indeed every aspect of civil society. There is no more urgent task in front of us. The organizers of the Eradicate Hate Global Summit are doing the United States and the world an enormous service by tackling hatred and extremism with a focus on honest dialogue and conversation, genuine learning and practical solutions. This will not happen overnight, but the Pittsburgh community’s leadership in this effort is genuinely inspiring and motivating.
