Derika B. Sutton is the Program Owner for the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program Hate Crime Statistics Data Collection. Ms. Sutton facilitated the first ever Hate Crime Symposium, August 2023 and the first annual Hate Crime Awareness Week, October 2024, both held at CJIS. Ms. Sutton was a presenter at the 2023 and 2024 Eradicate Hate Global Summit. She collaborates with additional government agencies and advocacy/community groups regarding increased NIBRS reporting and reducing underreporting for hate crime, while building strong relationships between government and community.
The Eradicate Hate Global Summit brings together scholars, practitioners, civil society organizations, and policymakers from around the world to share best practices and lessons learned, based on data and empirical evidence, in countering hate-fueled extremism and violent narratives. No other summit, conference, or workshop brings together such an extraordinary group of world-class talent focused on dealing with the issue of hate-fueled violent extremism.
