Raymond is the son of Mrs. Ruth E. Whitfield, the eldest of ten victims in the May 14 Buffalo, NY grocery store massacre.
Having spent twenty-five years in the broadcast industry in the Buffalo, Philadelphia, Chicago and New York City markets, Raymond embraces the importance of public outreach. In the aftermath of the unthinkable, he and his siblings have traveled extensively seeking not only to raise awareness but to learn all they can from those who suffered before them, to prevent and if not, to offer some semblance of relief to those unsuspecting souls to come.
In Pursuit of tRuth— as president of the nonprofit established In honor of his beloved mother, Raymond is committed to countering the barbarous spread of hate based violence through public messaging, information and educational awareness.
My network of professionals working on countering hate in all its forms grew exponentially after attending Eradicate Hate in 2021. The myriad voices represented at Eradicate Hate, from big tech companies to academic researchers to those with lived experience, reinforced to me the importance of cross-cutting and collaborative approaches to counter hate and its devastating impacts on society. I’ve been fortunate to sustain and build those networks with many of those I met at Eradicate Hate in 2021.
