Dr. Marley is currently Interim Dean of the Loyola University Chicago School of Social Work. He has over 35 years of social work practice experience in adult mental health and family therapy. Dr. Marley is the author and co-author of published articles and several books in family therapy and mental health. He has focused on professional ethics for many years and gives numerous trainings and talks related to ethics, mental health, and family therapy. For the past seven years Dr. Marley has worked on state and federal grants related to domestic terrorism/targeted violence prevention and intervention. He is on the Advisory Board for the Prevention Practitioners Network and is co-chair of their ethics committee. Dr. Marley has been on the editorial board for the Clinical Social Work Journal since 2004 and is active in several national social work organizations.
The catalytic power of this Summit in bringing together those who are devoting their lives to pushing back and working to confront, understand and work towards solutions around hate in our society is a noble and difficult task. The Summit not only energized those who attended but led to connecting the dots in a global network of those doing this work. The stories of the victims of hate were painful to witness but their courage in coming forward was inspirational. Those who attended left energized with the hope that by working together solutions can be forged.
