Brian Nguyen is a researcher at the UC Berkeley Human Rights Center and a second-year student at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism. Through the Human Rights Center Investigations Lab, he teaches and leads teams of Berkeley students in conducting digital investigations. He recently co-led an open source investigation related to repression in Myanmar for the Associated Press.  Nguyen also contributes to Human Rights Center trainings on digital methods for professionals in advocacy, law and journalism. He directed media innovation at the tech start-up Advance Publications.
